Old times are the good times. Me and Phil created rover200.com after becoming mates when he delivered some speakers to me that I bought off him on the rover yahoo group. Don't really hear off him anymore, met Steve M through him too who was only up the road then good memories of the community, s2ki ...

Re: Engine Oils : What rating? Which brand? For which Engine
10W-40s and 5W-40s will have very different viscositys in an engine. This is because the base oil viscosity (the thickness of the oil with no additives in) will be higher in a 10W grade
KV100s aren't that relevant in an engine that is running.

Magnatec isn't just marketing, it does have a component in which does work at lower temperatures than normal anti-wear.

Re: 60k between oil changes...
Regular oil changes are a good idea, but sometimes you are better off using a better, more expensive oil, and leaving it in for longer than just cheap stuff and think changing it more often offers you better protection.
This way it won't cost you anymore money but your engine is better protected.

Munky, did you drive the dumbed down version? Ie post 2002. The 2000 does not understeer, infact it is a snappy bastid which will oversteer when provoked. Honda built the car as a 50th aniversary present to itself, the Engineers optimised it for the track. However the massive amount of claims by peo...

I used to slate VTECs all the time back when I had my Rover, like you I had this thing about having a 'crap' and beating more expensive things and somehow thinking that was great. You're both on about the same car - the bini used the same box as the ZR/25. Not sure why you'd denegrate the original mini? Re: Anoying Rovers Anoying Hot hatchs :-P
The mini box i.e. (midland gearbox) uses a 4.2 final drive and the same main shaft as a rover 100. New mini has same gearing as a 1.4 ZR on a R65. And a ZR does 70mph in 2nd at 65000rpm on ZR speedo. The s2000 is a nice car but you honda owners are still being fooled just like diesel owners. Feels ...

Re: Anoying Rovers Anoying Hot hatchs :-P
Only thing about all this gearing lark is that it's been said that a car should be geared to the engine...I don't disagree with this but manufacturers don't always do this and not in a way which is purely for performance. I remember the fiesta turbo did about 55 in second which was oddly about the ...

Re: Anoying Rovers Anoying Hot hatchs :-P
I think you have this all wrong. I upgraded from a Rover 200 with 270+ hp to an S2000. I'm well aware of how fast Rover turbos can be in a straight line. This is all intresting facts but at the end of the day the s2000 got beat. 230hp 1250kg expensive sports car got beat by a old designed rover 200 ...

gearing in the hondas is similar to the tubby coupe..as is the clio 2.0l all do around the 75mph mark in second..hardly short gearing. Unfortunately Senor Shen, thats incorrect. The EP3 is 58 in second, an S2k is the same, a clio is exactly 60mph at the end of second. As i just said, you gear a car...

Not sure why we should compare waw with a game 3 years older made by the same developer. Because WAW is the WW2 follow up to COD3 I dont think modern warfare can be compared to either of the other games , and as such 3 and waw are the closest in sucession.
