I brought one of these new recently... let's hope mine doesn't go the same way!
I got a good standard one spare if that helps?

Looks new, don't know, whatever it's worth.
When I get home I can take picture and take it from there.

How much did you pay for the ryan-on-fire rad? its up for £149.99 but has make an offer aswell?
May get another alloy one as his feedback seems to be pretty good, maybe i was extremely unlucky!

Well mines not leaking so far.
I'm surprised as the feedback is very good.

Re: Rover 220 Turbo Alloy Radiator
Good find, I'm sure mine was leaking but I didn't know it at the time, I think I thought it was the water pump that was leaking.
Hmm not sure what to do now...

I think the trouble with eBay is, most people (including me) get the item delivered, open it, check it's ok, don't fit it immediately but leave feedback.
Not a true feedback rating really.

Re: Rover 220 Turbo Alloy Radiator
That's exactly what I did, I bought one in April 2013 for £99.01 plus £10 p&p, I don't need it yet, in fact I think I'm a long way off needing it, but for the price I couldn't say no.Think I left fb along the lines "looks good arrived on time not fitted yet".xr4x4 wrote:I think the trouble with eBay is, most people (including me) get the item delivered, open it, check it's ok, don't fit it immediately but leave feedback.

As never fitted or tested I don't know if it leaks btw.

Re: Rover 220 Turbo Alloy Radiator
Well as the 220 turbo rads are now rarer than rocking horse sh*t i think i may take the plunge and get another one, from what i can see on xr4x4's build thread these look different (im assuming he didnt put that black writing on the rad himself) now and cost more. Will get it pressure tested b4 it goes on and if it leaks its going back!
Time will tell...

Re: Rover 220 Turbo Alloy Radiator
I've got one on the BRM, not covered many miles but seems ok so far.
As you're running a FMIC, you have more scope for larger radiator's anyway. I guess the downside is pipe routing could be more awkward.

Just bought one, should be coming Thursday so will update my build thread then, has yours got the writing on the front aswell? My bro is gonna pressure test it at his work probably next week so will see what happens!WonderSheep wrote:I've got one on the BRM, not covered many miles but seems ok so far.

Yes, has writing. If mine proves to be no good I have a genuine 220 item that I'll get re-cored

Re: Rover 220 Turbo Alloy Radiator
Well after around 3 weeks with numerous emails back and forth to Ryan Johnson, hes lied through his back teeth saying that rads had come in but had problems with them so had to send them back etc.
He said one was on its way a few days before ebay could step in and sort it for me (as its took so long!!) so i thought great, no problem but then refunds me the night before with no explanation and no Rad. Useless idiot!
I think it was due to the fact that i said it would be pressure tested when i recieve it and that it would be sent back if found to be faulty that put him off the sale!!
Proper cowboy....!! He also sent emails directly to my email address instead of using ebay... i wonder why!!
Best part about it is i coudnt leave feedback as he had already refunded me, no wonder his feedback looks ok.... shameful!!
So back to looking for a proper alloy radiator if anybody has one? Mite get my exisiting Ryan-OnFire bodge alloy radiator repaired depending on how much its gonna cost.... will see... guess i know why these are so cheap.....!! Good luck to the others that have them!
Will get some pics on here of the leak when i get chance just to show its definitely the end tanks leaking due to his shoddy work!!
