I'm more into apps than games - I've got ps3 and Xbox for games so looking for useful apps.

Thanks for the list.

Thanks dan
However, isn't it easier to look out the window for weather than look at an app lol

I don't agree.
I got an app today called tubemate. On my s3 I can now go to YouTube select a video and save it to phone or save as mp3 then can convert to a ringtone. All on the phone.
If there was an iPhone app that did this then please tell me - it was a balls ache just to change a ringtone!

My iPhone was jail broke and I'd say it's still wasn't custom able as the s3.

I'd say iPhones are for the fanboys/people who don't tinker and like the badge
Where the s3 is for the geeks!

Your preaching to the converted mate!

I had my iphone for 2 years - ive had my s3 for less than a week and i can tell its better. Iphone is for people who just want to use it where the s3 is for people who like to tinker.
Im a tinkerer

To customise your home pages properly Nova Launcher is pretty cool.

I've downloaded this for my Nexus 4 and you can now change the number of home pages, change how it swipes between them, change the grid size on the pages, make it display in landscape, edit the icons, edit the text beneath the icons, remove the search bar, remove the dock, even remove the notifications bar!

Basically, combine that with a decent icon pack and a decent background and you'll be able to create home pages like this -

I like the idea of creating something like this -

how odd, i have been iphone loyal (and jailbroken) since the launch of the iphone 3, just switched last week to a galaxy s3lte as the apple Vs tinkerers war is getting on my beers just so i can have simple functions like holding the up button to skip forward a track without taking my eyes off the road. And itunes is an abysmal bloated piece of shite. Still finding my feet with android, but enjoying it!

If you're a tinkerer then give the "paranoid android" rom a go, you can dual boot it with standard by using siyah kernel. Both available on xda-developers s3 forum.

Still doing my homework on the whole scene, at themoment I would be content with root access so I can mess about on the stock setup which I'll be giving a bash this weekend :)

If your such an iTunes fan what the hell are you reading this for (unless you realise how crap apple is)
I wanted to ask what sort of battery life are the s3 users getting?? I have an s2 with an R.R rom on which sees 2days of moderate use :-)
