Get a Galaxy S2 Ben.

Decent phone, tried and tested... and being replaced by the S3, you should be able to get yourself a decent deal.

you'd break a bt call box, they don't make phones tough enough yet.

I have read the Galaxy S1 is indestructible,
But id consider all the top flight stuff as fragile. Ive seen plenty of 'dropped and broke' and no 'ran it over and it was fine'

I dropped my One S in my breakfast bowl (was having a dump at the time) the other day and rather than break the bowl or just bounce off it chipped some of the anodizing off the phone which peed me off.

But as Andy said it looks like the S2 is the best phone for the money at the mo. The one x, S3 and any iphones are silly money.

Oh and yes, they can be fragile, I dropped my old desire once and chipped the aluminum edge (though the phone was ok) so with that and now my one x I use a softcase with a hard plastic case over it (ebay job) plus a screen protector which get replaced every few months. A workshop is a hard environment, but so far my phone is still perfect !
It simply lives on my toolbox, not in my pocket.

My HTC HD2 was a brilliant phone. Good spec for its time and a great looking phone IMO.

It got knocked and dropped quite a few times and still soldiered on.

I managed to get a very good fitting gel case for my S2 from eBay. A couple of mates have S2s and their cases are a crap fit, with the case being a very loose fit. Sure it adds a bit of size to the phone but being white, I'd rather replace the case every year than end up with a grubby phone.

I have never owned an i phone no... i have used my Dads iphones in the past though, from the 3gs to the 4s.

I really think it depends what you want, the i phones as you know are well made, and ios is very smooth to use, it does the job it was meant to do very well.

But its not my cup of tea ! i dont like apple as a company, i dont like their sales tactics one bit :|

I think you can do much more with any android phone, things like micro usb chargers and Sd cards (though not with the One X, its 32mb plus 25mb of dropbox) make them easily compatible with other equiptment, and if your in to rooting or programming (like my brother) then you can pretty much do anything with them..... plus you wont be branded a sheep

The one thing i have been really impressed by is the shear speed of the browser, and the screen is absolutley fanastic, its a 720p 4.7 inch screen :D

Battery life wont be quite as good as your i phone, but its fine, i can get a couple of days out of mine with light use easily, heavy use can drain it in a 3 or 4 hours though (a couple of films for example will kill it off).

Basicly i dont regret my decision, the Galexy3 is the better phone... simply for battery life and expandable memory, but i like being a little different, and my last HTC desire was a very good phone, seemed a natural upgrade for me :)
