Aye. Not sure it's going over terribly well with the parentals, but hey.
Should be on the driveway within an hour or two.

Needs a handbrake cable and two tyres for the MOT, the tyres I have, the cable I'll order this evening.
It also needs a VIC because it's had a new driver's door and respray, I'm hoping to get both MOT and VIC done on the same day.

I don't know. There's no mess on my boots, wasn't anything on the ground. Banana peel that whipped off into the hedges perhaps?

Not sure, Rich.
Have discovered she's rubbing horribly at lock, a result I suspect of just how low she is.
For the moment I'm thinking I'll simply butcher the arch liners so there's nothing to rub. Long term I'll put her on slightly higher springs, or possibly coilovers, depending on cost.

For the time being, just take the arch liners out complete ?

Well, that thought did ocurr, but I'm thinking of plastic welding in some wedges after cutting them. Only issue might be if there's enough clearance between arch liner/gearbox and arch liner/belt pulleys to do so.

Worth a thought.
One of the guys on Turbobricks has just pointed out that there may be bumpstops for the steering lock. Worth investigating before I start ripping arch liners out/cutting them.
I'm also wondering if it could be a toe/tracking issue, as she doesn't seem to be rubbing as badly on full right as she does on full left.

my dad has the same issue on his s60. it has the optional 18" bbs alloys and thought this might have been the problem but apparently its a common thing. a few people have mentioned the bump stops but its been like that for getting on for 5 years now so i guess he's learned to live with it.

lol. Hush y0 mouth.
Ordered a pair of handbrake cables for her this evening, figured I might as well do both.
Investigated the rubbing, and it would seem that it's barely rubbing anywhere but the back of the O/S wheel, which suggests tracking more than ever to me. So I need to get her tracked when the wheels go back on before she's tested.
Beyond that, fit new wiper blades and go for test.

Indeed. But a secondary concern.
Was just wondering a moment ago if I still have a rattlie of gloss black in the garage. Don't think I do.
