Photobucket Broken Links

I've noticed lots of threads on here now have broken Photobucket links.

Seems to be a common problem on various forums too. Looks like Photobucket have changed their T&Cs and part of that involves no more 3rd party linking (i.e. to forums) without a paid subscription.

Time to find another photo host I think...

Use the download album links (it takes a while) then upload to a different location.

for example on my thread i have dead pics from 2010 but no access that I know of to account

I've been using flickr, when I can't get access to pc to upload ftp.

They gradualy started to block links to users pictures. Mine were fine until two days ago. Now I am blocked too as you can see from my avatar. Soon all might be blocked as thay changed their Terms of Service sneaky overnight and demanding $400 per year from any user to continue using them. This is extortion. I would be happy to pay $40 or $50 per year, but this much no way. For $40 per year I can bring my own site up with 25GB of space...

I used to have a website too but took it down to redo it. I never did but used the hosting to store images. I may go back to doing that.

Well my links to PB are still working, but guess it'll be a matter of time until they show up as broken links.

Guess it's time to look at transferring them to a different hosting site.

Wonder how many will stay with PB given the amount they want. Typical short-sighted bean counters will probably kill the site with this move.

Well that lasted, didn't it. 4 days later and all my links are now dead.

Will look into another 3rd party image hoster and at least try and redo my "how to's", but no promises on a timeline for when that might happen.

Well Photobucket have fixed that mod now and I have had enough and deleted my account, sod em'.

I'm on PostImage now, nice and simple, bit basic but it works for me.

Hmm, I see my Maestro thread images have now gone. Guess I'll have to spend a lunchtime moving them elsewhere. Seems like a systematic removal process that photobucket are going through.

I noticed also that Stuball's brm thread and Cable guys vi track car thread have also lost pictures. Really annoying as I sometimes goes back to threads like these for ideas and info.

There will be folk who have posted How To`s, etc that will no longer be active making their hard work all but useless.

Anyone had problems trying to download their albums off photobucket? It keeps either failing on me or timing out after the captcha

Finally got round to sorting this out, I gave up using the downloader on the photobucket page and downloaded "Photobucket Album Downloader (Unlimit)" extension for the chrome browser, half way through my photos then itll be a case of trying to sort them out to get all the dead links working again....

Me too, it's very hit and miss whether you actually receive the files or not.
