NEED HELP!! ;(

right in desperate need of some advice although i think there nothing i can do!!


I bought an entire engine and set up of a guy

he seemed legit he ran a site call Torbay-cars for sale on fb!

and had this for sale out of zr!

well he he wanted £260 delivered

so i agreed with a deposit of £60 but he didn't have paypal so i sent a bank transfer

then after the £60
i sent another £70 3 days later
4 days after that sent £50
2 days after that i sent the remaining £80


well once he had received the final payment he said he will book the collection for Friday 17th delivery for Monday 20th

well it didn't come he said he had to go up country for family reason so missed the pick up on Friday he said he would book it Tuesday night for Wednesday and pay extra for next day delivery as it was his mistake!

well once gain Thursday came and went without engine and he said it would be picked up on Friday and be delivered on Tuesday due to Bank holiday well you can guess it Tuesday came and went without engine by this time i got a bit angry and he told e he had arrange a man in a van to pick it up on Friday 30th and delivered strait to my house by the afternoon well it now 23:29 and no delivery! i'm so disappointing
and as i said i don't think there anything i can do!

i have tried contacting but no reply this time


any help with be muchly appreciated

Now you know how it feels..... but joking asides hes spent more on delivery charges than what he got for the engine. Do you have a number for him or know where hes at and see if anyone is near by on here.

Think your stuck up a gum tree.
I would contact the bank and see if you can re call the money. I had to do it once, since then either paypal or penny pieces when iv collected. Hope this helps.

yeah i know but difference is i paid it back and i always intended to pay it back it was less then £70 collectively and this £260!

but fair enough!

and yeah think i going to have contact the bank but think its a loss cause

Do yo not have a mate or family member with a van or pick up that can collect it with you?

yeah i do my step dad said get his address and name and number will go up with the trailor on the weekend

he didnt reply to my message about picking it up

You have his bank details which is pretty personal and traceable, tell him you want the address to collect and when and if he still stalls tell the story to the local constabulary.

You can still claim through your bank and they will look at it on a best endeavour basis but no guarantee. Certainly report to police as well.

update on this because of my awesome detective skills i have manged to track down hs bank branch and his home address

he had left his marker on fb telling me whee the messages were sent from

Just on the off chance that someone was near this address, what is it you supposed such a person should do?
I suggest now that you know the address that you pass this info onto the police and let them handle it.

I agree if you know where he lives you can either go there and demand your money back or the engine . or just call the feds and let them deal with it .
