dave6785... my feedback on him.

Post by gearinator »

I sold Dave n285 fdh back in June. At the time I just wanted it out the way to make way for my vxr. He made me an offer of x amount and said he would be down to view it in a couple of days. He bought it and left telling me he would arrange a courier to collect the car.
After leaving I realised he hadn't signed the log book so we agreed I would sign it put in In the car to take back with the courier for Dave to sign his end and send to dvla.
ANYWAY. Some 5-6 months later I receive a parking notice through the post saying I was parked longer than permitted on cannon st Accrington
I contacted Dave (as I still had contact details luckily, or maybe not so) for him to tell me 'I have now sold the car and I'm sorry I forgot to dend the log book off and I will sort the parking ticket.'
This was 2 weeks ago and I have had another letter from Lancashire council saying payment has not been made and I STILL OWE THIS MONEY.
Dave has told me on countless occasions he will sort this and has not.
I know not the most popular person on here but I'm sure most can see my frustration.
He won't reply to my messages even though I know he has read them. (What's app allows this).
I rang the council today and they told me simply, because the car is registered to me I'm to blame and have till the 8th to pay.
I gave Dave when he came to view car many of freebies etc probably in excess of £50 worth as they had no use to me and even offered to pay the fine for him and spread the pay back costs and goodwill for him still to do this to me.
Bit of a rant people and I am sorry but just wanted to point out that nit everyone on here is genuine or trustworthy .
Thanks for your time
Dave

Tell them you sold it and sent logbook of you have any messages ect from Dave to prove it was sold ect if so forward them and his address and let it be his problem.

But I always send a logbook off this could end up being a costly mistake for you sadly

Riiiiight. Now my side of the story. Doesn't differ a great deal if I'm honest. Bought the car off Dave aka Gearinator on here this year. He willingly signed the V5 and let me take it away to send off at my Will, but generally asap as expected. Because the car was in bits the V5 got accidentally put in a folder and left whilst I got the car running.

I only realised the V5 wasn't in my name when I came to sell the car a month ago. Since the car was sold 'Gearinator' recieved a parking notice from when I was the owner of the car. I accepted responsibility for it and said I would contact them regarding the matter.

Now this week has just been one of those shiyt weeks. Monday morning 0630 I have a bump in my diesel daily Peugeot writing it off, my fault, my loss. But Monday was spent talking to insurance, and loss assessors, as well as trying to get lifts to and from work 50 miles away. So I didn't get round to sorting the fine out.

This meant on Tuesday bringing my 218sd on to the road as well which had no tax/mot so I could get work done for MOT at the same time. This day is when I phoned the council, explained the situation and agreed with them I would pop in after work Friday to pay the parking fine. I managed to get a lift to and from work so I felt ok about everything.

Tuesday night got home to a DVLA clamp for no tax. Focking brilliant, 2 cars gone in 2 days. Wasn't worth paying hundreds in charges to recover the Rover that had no MOT so that's stayed at the pound.

Luckily I had a 307cc off the road so Wednesday I drove this to work for it to get exhaust sorted and MOT'd this week.

All the way through this I had intention to pay the fine on Friday, Gearinator was aware of everything and I even sent him photos as proof of my shyt week. He offered to pay the fine as he has said, which was appreciated but turned down because its my fine. I'll sort it.

Get a phone call Thursday, cars in for MOT on Friday. Brilliant I though, Friday comes. Goes in for MOT and passes. Collected after work, drives home happy. Then realised that I haven't paid the fine. So I looked into paying it online, found the right page and paid it last night.

No tinky winky issues what so ever. I said I'd pay Friday, and even after the week I've had. Managed to do it.

I'll leave out where gearintaor threatened to lie to police saying he never received payment. Or would tell them that it was stolen. Even though the car had been sold on with his signature on the V5.

You just wasted let's say 15 mins of your time typing all that in as none of it is relevant to you ignoring most of my txts and as for your week that's not in my interest quite frankly.
Had you kept me updated and not just read my txts and not bothered replying maybe things would have been different.
As for threatening to call the police and report it stolen I'll admit I did say that and at the time I was fuming. Still am. Don't like having the p**s taken out of me as I'm sure would be the same for anyone else.
I will speak to Lancashire County council and confirm you've made payment.
Oh and you've still not told me when the log book was sent off as that was one of many txts you ignored.

In fairness to Dave (gearinator) in the time it has taken you to type all of the above text, you could have phoned him and arranged a PayPal transfer or bank transfer to recompense him. With respect, all of your unfortunate troubles of the last few days are not his worry. He shouldn't be out of pocket.

He isn't out of pocket in any way. I said I'd pay it yesterday as it was my responsibility to.

I did pay it last night so I stuck to what I said.

I know my unfortunate week isn't his responsibility, that's why I've stuck to what I said. I apologized for him being involved and we spoke many times discussing the issue.

Fine paid.

Why not communicate to say so them rather than just ignore me all night?
We certainly didn't speak many times as like iv said you ignored most of my txts. You've still not said when the log book was sent off. Another question you keep avoiding to answer

Off the top of my head, end of last week. Maybe a couple of days earlier. Should be processed within the next few days at the most.

Dave told me he sent it. The new owner would recieve it through the post so he is probably wondering himself why he has not received it.
