I took T16 in for its pre-MOT earlier. Failed on idle emissions and leaky exhaust. Exhaust being done tomorrow, idle emissions booked in next Friday, no point in me doing it as don't have the equipment to check etc. I was expecting more so quite pleased. They said it was chucking in too much fuel at idle which pointed towards a temp sensor, which I have just replaced! I checked its MOT history earlier and was surprised at how little miles it has done in recent years. Since June 2011 it has covered 4568 miles, since Sept 2013 only done 1210 miles and that includes the trip back from Wales when I collected it. Probably explains the condition of it being covered in so much greenage! Pete obviously didn't go out much.

So all going well it'll be at PoL. I'll be heading the www.theMGZS.co.uk stand. From speaking to Adrian at AMW Motorsport Pete didn't attend many shows so doubt if many have seen the car. It does need some work but mechanically is pretty good.

Oh well, exhaust is worse than first thought, every joint blowing and moving. It needs welding up as too many joints or get a custom one made. Don't have the time or money as committed to other things this month (DIY!)

No, hate missing it. Been under it all afternoon. Removed the whole system to clean the joints. However it is all stainless and have no MIG argon/co2 mix gas for the stainless wire. Had some argon so went to try that and the pipe joint blew off under the pressure, brown trouser moment! So contemplating a beer right now!

Got some better pipe and that was a tight fit, that blew off too! Regulator is busted. Time is against me. MOT expires on the 14th so not much room left to get everything done.

So who went then?

I was there.

Didnt spot anyone who I knew but spotted a couple of cars that I knew.

No r8 really blew me away, there was a very clean original looking white 220 gsi.

Had a poke about the new mg gs, very impressed, nice to see a small mg stand there, a bit poor considering we are the main hope when it comes to them selliong cars, or at least a following of sorts.

tripe n onions poor organiation though and some chocolate starfish marshalling too unfortunately, which meant if you werent in a club or knew a stand mumber, or in my case knew nothing about this, you got dumped in a side car park

I just presumed I would be directed to the other mg zs cars, or the rovertech stand, oh wait we dont have one
Ah well

I was there too. Agree with Vinny about the organisation or lack of, but it wasn't just an R/T thing, other clubs were not organised or represented properly either. There was some nice cars, but not as many or as varied as two years ago.

R8 wise a nice 216gti did it for me being original and in that nice metallic maroon colour. Coupes or lack of them were disappointing and only one maestro and montego turbo, shame there weren't more.

The stars of the show for me were the ZT stand, especially all the immaculate ZT385's and also the Metro boys. There were some very well presented and modified Metro's, and those boys don't mess about with air filters and back box swaps,as almost every Rover Metro there was stuffed full of 1.8VVC or spotless and powerful K-turbo installations.

I guess they don't believe in all show and no go?

Had a really good day. We got there early, and parked my 216 Coupe and my 220 GTi in the 200 Owner's Club group. There were some really stunning cars on show in the group.

Met some interesting people and had a good chat about Rovers and cars in general. :)

Yeah I was shocked by the metro's .

I have owned 5 metro GTi's the last being some 14 years ago and I thought they were virtually all finished, rusted away.

But to see the metropower stand was very impressive, and as said all with big engines, proper jobs, also the selection of pristine austin/rover metros/100s was very good.

Spotted some early 80s HLE metro's a metro city, just so much in timewarp condition

I also commented on the lack of coupe's and even t16 r8's unless im mistaken

There were at least 15 Coupes in the 200 Owner's Club group, perhaps not as many as previous years. But good quality cars. Kevin's Polynesian turbo Coupe is stunning. 8)

What was thin on the ground was T16 and D16 hatches. There was a black 216 GTi, a maroon 216 GTi, a white 220 GTi and a white 220 GSi parked in front of my red 220 GTi and I think that was it. :o

I was there too, parked up the hill with 10 other blue ZSs, never seen your car vinny, spotted 34DAN. Think I was the only car rocking an RT sticker (that I could see). I'll spam some photos in here later if I get a chance.
Could of came on my group stand Vinny if I had known.

A good turn out overall, some cracking cars on show on various stands. Took hours to get in! Could do with a smoother and quicker entry to the park. T16 wasn't happy, got maybe a fuelling issue, was predictable when driving so nursed it there and back. The ZS stand only had about a dozen cars, could always make it a joint one next year to increase numbers and interest?

only 2 tiny entrances to get in, and stupid people not knowing where they are going are always going to slow things down.

Think it depends what time you turn up at. I left the car wash round the corner at 10, was parked up by 10:30. Luck of the draw, an RT stand would be great. See what happens. Have some pics, didnt take a lot tbf. Mostly of my group lol got more on the dslr when i can be arsed to get them on the laptop
