facebook argument over rovers being "logger"

Post by roverturbo2007 »

 as above, went to a halloween cruise on sunday.
the organisers took photo's of all the cars as they arrived.
one was taken of matts vi turbo engine bay, leading to a typical comment off a know all....
Stephen Newton "ouch rover head gasket problem motor"

Lisa Austen "erm, it would be,IF it was a k-series engine, but it isnt, its a T-series.Rover NEVER made a k-series turbo (apart from the 1.8t in the 75) so getting ya facts right would be a start mate" :o)

Stephen Newton "i no my engines as i use to work for rover dixon barnsley before thay shut down due to rover beeing so crap at making a car its the head its made of soft alloy cars witch are the worst mg-zr 1.4 1.8 mg-tf mg-f rover 200 u are right about the k-series i will give that one . all i am trying to say is i dont like rovers but am sorry if i offended you"

Lisa Austen "but like i say, u obvs dont know what you are talking about,as the head AND block are cast, not alloy!!! you didnt offend,im just sick of ppl who THINK they know what they are talking about, and dont! the alloy head had nothing to do with hg probs either,it was the stretch bolts that they used that caused the prob! ive got 3 t-series and a k-series and tbh, the k has proved better than the t-series, but thats coming out for a t-series conversion,of which we do ourselves, and i do the wireing" :o) x

Obviously, he knows sweet fa about what hes talking about, and i know i shouldnt argue, but it really p1sses me off! It then led to this sexist comment....

Stephen Newton "i do no what am on about u are a womenu talk logger see u and ur shitter at the next avent bye"
Wtf is an "avent" lmao, how thick can one person possibly be??

Lisa Austen "oh i c, coz im a woman, i know nothing about cars, grow up you fkin idiot, i obviously know more about rovers than you do, for someone who "worked at rover" you know fk all! oh and its an EVENT not an avent! like i care if you like our cars, yours is fkin home aloner imo"

Stephen Newton "my scooby will logger on that rover all day every day just face it u have got a pile and u no it there for old men rovers or smack rats on dole i luck forward to meetin ur bloke to give him some words on the car i has h after he may want to sell it and buy some thing what u can call a boy racer motor"

 I then came to the conclusion that i was arguing with a five year old  "my cars faster than you'res" omg!
And who in their right mind would want to be classed as a fkin "boy racer"?? what a plank.
The argument continues  cant wait for this at the next cruise tbh (its not quite a cruise either, just a general car meet really)
Anyone on my fb friends list, feel free to comment

i know the feeling with this argument as you get a lot of people voicing an opinion on rovers based on waht they have heard and then stating their opinion as fact having never owned a rover themselves! (gets me angry :x ) i work at a vauxhall main dealer and getiing in my coupe at night after a full day workin on vauxhalls just feels right and it (touch wood) has never let me down yet.

*EDIT* Dammit Dan, you got in there before me with the long list.

If you don't see most of the above on a regular basis, I have a feeling you don't look out of the window much. I see several of those cars in that list every day!

In fact, I see more Cossies on the road than turbo Rovers. :o
