Finished replacing the 6 core plugs that are easy-ish to get to, checked out the heated seat elements that I fitted a few weeks back, all is good nice toasty warm bum and no water leaks or blowing ex manifold gasket, life is good

Performed my bi-weekly coolant check and topped up accordingly, KV6 stat weep
Had a peak at my tyres, contemplated a rotation front to back but didn't bother.

Think I'll get a diesel ZT next, the KV6 is a whore for petrol, 20mpg average and the performance doesn't match.

haha, was that when her sister was shouting at me, saying that we were going to die? :crylol:

I very rarely have people in the back so it was never a priority. I'm hopefully swapping the interior in a few weeks and as I've started stripping this interior, thought it would be the perfect time to sort them :)

Topped up the header tank (again).

Really must identify where the leak is. Having changed the rad, but none of the pipework, 6 odd months ago, infinity to one on it's the bottom coolant rail :x

haha, that was epic!

Swapping to the black/ash grey. The current interior is a bit marked from moving house and replacement panels in this colour are hard to find. Vard wants a few panels so he's having my current interior so at least it'll be helping another 420.

Spent hours p*ssing about in the dark and cold at my mate's house, trying to trace his electrical gremlins on his new toy, a '72 Scimitar GTE.

It's a massive pile of bodge, because it's been part-restored, and has been dicked with in order to add various requirements for Historic Hillclimbing - things like an in car manual fuel pump override, and manual fan override; so work tracing electrical issues is plentiful and irritatingly not standard in many places.

So far a lot of our issues seem to stem from the fuse caps, and more specifically the springs inside them being knackered and too weak to push the fuse down and make the connection.

Tomorrow morning we're going to go scrapyarding, see if we can find a suitable fusebox to rip out of something, so we can simply rewire and thusly modernise the fusebox in it, get it using standard two pin fuses instead of the problematic cylindrical vintage fuses.

Coupe 1 = recirc valve blanking plate fitted, waiting for new dumpvalve then its back to the rolling road.
coupe 2 = sprayed the sills in silver and fixed a couple of rust bubbles on the doors.
coupe 3 = fitted radio (well fixed the cables)
Coupe 4 = Unable to collect due to trailer not being wide enough.
Bought a 75 1.8 turbo estate - next weekends job, fitting a down pipe and cat, rear brakes and pads.

9. We've checked (visually) all the earths, being that we hadn't got a multimeter handy, and they mostly seem to be a-ok. Slapped a dab of copper grease on a few of them that looked a bit corroded, and carried on.

Gave up on the idea of cannibalising a more modern fusebox this afternoon, we're just gonna order a metric f**ktonne of fuses and fuse caps from eBay so that we'll have plenty of spares to try. :D

Competed in an autosolo on saturday but had to retire due the the cam belt slipping 3 teeth on the inlet cam after a piece of metal got caught in the belt and lifted it as it went round the cam sprockets.

Sunday invloved lining it all back up, turning the key and hoping for the best. Fortunately got away with no valve damage. New belt on and all is well again. Apart from the inlet manifold gasket, which is now leaking

I fitted a new battery to the coupe on Friday, then drove back up North. Saturday I dug the Escort out of the folks garage and gave it an airing. Then the rest of the weekend driving the coupe here there and everywhere catching up with people. A total of just over 600 miles in the 4 days :) and not a single coupe seen. saw a few MG's but no acknowledgement unfortunately.

I keep thinking I'm in some bizarre parallel universe, when Alfas are reliable. Nothing has gone wrong in six months, possibly a first out of any car I have ever owned.

I almost want it to break just to stop freaking me out.

Oh, oh, actually, I lie - a brake bulb blew last week. :o

Replaced both the (de)cat gaskets, replaced 12 wheel nuts to get rid of the stupid rover ones with the silly caps! Also rebuilt the throttle body. So a productive sunday i reckon!

Ready for brands this weekend :)

So now you've blinded us, we can't see exactly where you are, the bend in the road and plough right through you.

Typical daft biker thinking, always having main beam on is a safety improvement.
