These mahle forged are made from a M124 (similar to 4032) alloy which has low expansion and piston to wall clearance can be as little as 0.04mm which I believe is quite a bit smaller than other brands require. They should last longer and be quieter which is more suitable for a daily driver.
These pistons will give a 9:1 compression ratio on a T16 with standard size rods. Although they can be machined down to lower compression if needed. Or you could have the block skimmed and have a higher compression ratio as these sit 2.07mm from deck on a standard T16 block
People have run these pistons at 350bhp and beyond.
