Went for a drive in the vitesse after work to clear my head.... I'm sticking with rover.
It has an annoying rattle in the boot, slight blow from the dp flexi and it has that annoying rattle from behind one of the door cards
but aside from that i'm still not bored of driving it! I just hope I dont ruin the 600 and upset the balance too much because the Ti was a great car to drive aswell.
I know its never gonna be the driving machine the same way as an evo with the same amount of cash thrown at it but thats not the point for me.

Landrover is my 1st love, but driving my Coupe Turbo brings a huge smile to my face
Horses for courses.
I like to work on my own cars as I don't trust garages so it will always be older stuff and for now the Rovers fit the bill.

Already Moved on .
Now into owning Hondas .. I've bought a 2.4 accord estate with nearly every toy going and its a great car and so far i havent had to get underneath it !
Mind, The 2.2 diesel accord i had before this one was an absolute piece of crap and i actually wanted my tourer back it was so unreliable.
Missus has a pug 206 gti that we will be flogging shortly. extremely surprised at how good that car is .. never let us down and starts on the button, Its got to go though as its killing my back with it being so hard ,,and with being a 3 door its no good for the impending baby ! (4 Weeks to go !)
Currently looking for a bubble shaped civic as she had one before and it was a great car.
Also passed my bike test and currently own a VFR 750 ... So we will be an all Honda household soon.
Still want another 216 TC GTI to rag around .. but cant justify owning 3 cars when i hardly drive the ones i have now !

Re: Where do you plan to go from rover?
I've driven a few modern car's but nearly all have had the soulless feeling and no sense of something special about them. You'd get more glances in an Escort RST than you would in a Citroen DS3 or a Mini cooper S etc. I'm quite impressed with VAG DSG gearbox's though, and I'd like a drive in a Fabia VRS to see what they are like?
I will be staying with at least one rover for as long as I've got a garage. If I was to add to the stable then realistically I'd probably buy a light and basic city car like an Aygo and tweak it gently, but still retain it's chuckable light feel and 60mpg benefits. In fact these days I'd probably choose a tweaked Aygo over an old MG Metro turbo or Renault 5GT, and never worry about fighting rust or finding spare parts.

Had a vrs fabia cracking little car would have another but would have to be low milage example. The pd engines are brill. To be fair I love my evo will only be changing it for a newer example. Rovers are good for ease of tuning and relativley good mpg compared to big bhp cars.
Life Dosn't start until 20psi turbo boost

Never let a rover be under-estimated

Re: Where do you plan to go from rover?
I left the Rover a year or so ago when I sold this to a lad from East Yorkshire:

I've been driving this since as I've always wanted to try one:

Thing is though, compared to the tubby coupe, it's incredibly dull to drive. So I can well understand why folk migrate back to these fun Rover's. I miss mine.....much more than I actually thought I would
